Phnom Kulen is one of Cambodia’s most sacred places — the birthplace of the Khmer Empire. Your journey begins with an exciting drive along a mountain road leading to the summit of Phnom Kulen, where an 8-meter Reclining Buddha is carved directly into the rock. This temple is a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists from across Cambodia.
We then descend to the famous River of a Thousand Lingas, carved in the 9th century. The riverbed is decorated with intricate stone carvings brought from India, and according to Khmer belief, the water flowing over the lingas becomes blessed.
Our final stop is the beautiful Kulen Waterfall, where you can swim, relax on the scenic riverbank, and enjoy the cool mountain air.
What to bring:Swimwear (changing cabins available), water-friendly comfortable shoes, sunscreen, hat, and a camera.
