Bokor National Park is one of Cambodia’s most unique natural treasures, located at an altitude of 1,079 meters above sea level, 10 km from Kampot and 90 km from Sihanoukville.
The park is known for its cool mountain climate, evergreen forests, and atmospheric ruins dating back to the era of French colonization and the Khmer Rouge. The former hill station, once a luxury retreat for French elites in the early 20th century, now offers mysterious, fog-covered landscapes and breathtaking views of the coastline.
Among the park’s highlights are: • the historic Bokor Palace Hotel • the 1925 casino • the Catholic church in Romanesque style • the Emperor’s Tea House • the Buddhist temple Wat Sampov Pram
One of the most popular sites is the Popokvil Waterfall, especially impressive during the rainy season. Fans of dramatic scenery will enjoy the clifftop viewpoints overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.
What to bring: Warm clothing, hat, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and a camera.
